Welcome to our blog....

Hey everyone! On March 1, my wife, Allie, a nurse practitioner, and I, a Internal Medicine physician, will move with our 2-month old son, James, to Nepal. Some may call us crazy and (jokingly) we're glad to assume this title. In all reality, this opportunity is the culmination of years of dreaming and planning. It's our distinct privilege and joy to work alongside the excellent staff at Scheer Memorial Hospital, a 150-bed full service hospital located 45-minutes from Katmandhu. Allie is planning to work in the Womens' Health department and I anticipate having a spectrum of responsibilities including primary patient care (intensive, acute, and ambulatory care) and administrative responsibilities.

You might be a friend or family member who has encouraged us or shown interest in the our work. Or there is a good chance you may not know us personally but heard about our work and want to discover our stories. Regardless of the connection, we invite you to follow our story -- virtually. While we may not be sitting around a table, telling stories, and sharing a meal together, imagine that you are with us -- experiencing the sights, sounds, and smells -- while you read the stories we share. Make sure to sign up for the newsletter, a publication we will send quarterly to highlight our favorite stories.

Take a few minutes to explore our blog. On the home page you'll find our most recent posts. The current blogs page will list all of the blogs we write. You'll notice a page called historical blogs, these are a catalog of stories Allie has written over the years. Most of her stories are from the Philippines, where she spent one year working with the George family and their Adventist Frontier Mission project. She has some pretty incredible stories to read! You'll find a page highlighting ways to be involved and engaged with our work, check it out! There are links to an Ambassador program, a program that we are designing that will facilitate providing materials to you to share with a circle of influence (e.g. workplace, school, church, or community group). The Ambassador program is in its infancy. If you think you'd be interested in making a lasting impact in Nepal then please sign up to become an ambassador. As more information becomes available we will contact you.

We'd love to hear from you! Send us an email, by typing a message below or write us on Facebook!
